04: Out of Sabbatical Comes Newness
In which the gallery hangs up its hat for the year and raises a glass of digital champagne to you, reader.
HOME Gallery Publications: In this arm of the gallery, I’ll present my latest published content before opening the show.

As you can see, HOME Gallery has not been HOME Gallery-ing for a bit. Things have been busy (as noted in the Publications section) and in some offline projects which include redacted. The following breaks the fourth wall of the gallery format, but it’s my show! So here goes.
This was a banner year for the Sam Falb Editorial Boardroom. I kicked off 2024 with a flight to Paris where I covered men’s shows and sat across from a Target Corporation buyer based in Hong Kong at Bouillon Julien – a classic, Parisian cafeteria that services students, locals, and tourists from across the spectrum of international backgrounds (clearly).
On a separate work-stream, after covering art for a period, I started an art column with Elephant Magazine. This endeavor has taken me to countless studio visits, gallery openings, and artist talks — making great friends along the way. Speaking of columns, I rounded out the year with five designer interviews for the CFDA, three of which were winners of the group’s awards across the 23-24 seasons, and all of which are close to my heart.
Parties were a pillar: portfolios for FW24 and SS25 with V Magazine featured sky-high cakes, global DJs, minuscule rooms, and the inimitable Kit Butler. Vogue’s party coverage has proven deliciously unexpected and joyful just for its sheer breadth. Fashion, art, and culture, in cathedrals, ballrooms, high and low dining establishments, and farms… in 2025 who knows where it will take us.
In this next year, there are many things I would like to do. Write a great deal more about things that I care about, go in-house full time somewhere fun, curate a show (?), make leather shorts happen (with the proper fray and baggy-form fitting balance), dive into new mediums and modes of work, deepen relationships, and say YES to even more things, especially the unexpected.
To the friends, editors, editor-friends, PRs, and brands who made 2024 special, thank you. To 2025, a bright light ahead, maybe. Who knows. Who can say. Have fun!
In the new year, we will probably return to regularly scheduled programming. Until then, kisses from HOME Gallery!
